Chromatic is shaping up to be unlike any other Oakland Symphony Gala! We’re back in Oakland at the Rotunda Building, we’re auctioning off once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and the night centers around a five-course wine pairing dinner helping us tell the story of our amazing musicians from the MUSE (Music for Excellence) Program, Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, Oakland Symphony Chorus, and Oakland Symphony.

How does this work, you ask? Here’s a preview of our first course!

Eight-year old Ava’s gentle smile and infectious energy have been a part of MUSE since she was just five years old. Her multi-generational Oakland-based family is originally from Vietnam, which represents the second-largest group of Asian immigrants in Oakland. As you think about sweet Ava and her future, pick up a Vietnamese spring roll and taste a piece of her family’s heritage. We’ve paired this fresh appetizer with an equally refreshing Alvarinho, from Portuguese winery Terra d’Alter. This young winery is making stunning wine now, but with time and support, it will grow stronger and stronger, just like Ava herself.
