Volunteers check VIP guests into the July 3 Independence Eve Concert at the Craneway Pavilion.

“Being a volunteer with the Symphony has given me a positive sense of connection to the city of Oakland, the opportunity to meet new friends and a new-found appreciation for symphonic music. I am proud to be a volunteer for such a great organization.”                           -Cynthia Guevara, volunteer

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the support of volunteers just like you!

Volunteers help throughout the year on projects that excite them, from helping in the office to staffing the Oakland Symphony Ball. Through your work, you can see Symphony, Youth Orchestra, Chorus, and MUSE Orchestra concerts, experience special events, meet great new friends, and make a big difference.

Some examples of volunteer opportunities include:

  • Connect with other Symphony lovers by signing up subscribers at Symphony concerts at the Paramount Theatre in the spring
  • Work directly with young people in the schools by preparing them for the Young People’s Concerts as a docent
  • Find a great creative outlet in helping plan and execute special events throughout the year
  • Learn about the inner workings of the Symphony by lending a hand with office projects both large and small
