Mission

The Oakland Symphony Chorus enriches our community through high-quality musical performances and educational workshops that raise appreciation and understanding of choral music while providing opportunities for people who love to sing.

About Us

Established in 1958, the 110-member Oakland Symphony Chorus is recognized as one of the East Bay’s finest choirs and a premier resource for continuing education in the choral arts.

Heralded as the symphony chorus of the East Bay the Chorus is a dues-based choir that performs regularly with its partners, the Oakland Symphony and Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, as well as a variety of other excellent area orchestras.

The Chorus also holds educational workshops that raise the appreciation and understanding of choral music while serving people who love to sing.  The Summer Sing-In series provides opportunities to sing masterworks from the choral repertoire and learn more about life as a Chorus member.

Our season runs from August to May; rehearsals take place on Wednesday evenings at the Finnish Hall, 1970 Chestnut Street, Berkeley, California 94702.
