2020-21 Season Program
Fall Set: Virtual Chamber Music Program and Online Coaching
The first set will run from September 13 to November 8, 2020 and will be an online program. Enrolled musicians will be placed in small virtual ensembles that will rehearse together online and will culminate in chamber music virtual performances. In addition to coaching by our regular staff sectional coaches, this set will also include a masterclass for each of the three major orchestra sections (Strings, Woodwinds, and Brass).
Winter Set: Live Chamber Music Program and Masterclasses
The second set will run from November 15, 2020 to February 21, 2021. If allowable per Alameda County and State guidelines, OSYO will transition to live coaching, live rehearsals, and eventually a live concert in a large indoor space with social distancing and the live concert broadcast across the Oakland Symphony platforms.
Spring Set: Full Orchestra Rehearsals and Concert
The third set will run from February 28 to May 16, 2021 and is currently planned to include in-person rehearsals and live concert should Alameda County restrictions allow. Youth Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 either with a live social distanced audience or live broadcast across the Oakland Symphony platforms.
