Gershwin’s Cuban Overture kicks off the evening to celebrate Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra’s recent Cuban tour, with youth and adult Symphony musicians performing together. Acclaimed violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins presents the U.S. premiere of Siegfried Matthus’ concerto Dream of a Summer Night along with John Williams’ theme from Schindler’s List and a selection from Fiddler on the Roof.
