Come out on a midweek night to be inspired by a new local community partnership between Oakland East Bay Symphony and Blue Bottle CoffeeCup of Classical is a casual, mid-week after-work event that pairs a coffee-related classical and contemporary music program with tastings and demonstrations of Blue Bottle products by coffee guru James Freeman, CEO and founder of Blue Bottle Coffee. The event takes place in the unique Oakland atmosphere of W.C. Morse Café, located in an historic storefront in the Temescal neighborhood.  The show will also include conversations with James and the musicians followed by a concert by the Pacific Arts Trio, members of the Oakland East Bay Symphony.

The Pacific Arts Trio— Alice Lenaghan, flute, Dan Reiter, cello, and Natalie Cox, harp— will perform music by Ravi Shankar, Vivaldi, Debussy, Albeniz, Wil Offermans (based on traditional Japanese shakuhachi music) and Dan Reiter’s original Celtic Suite. Oakland East Bay Symphony Assistant Conductor Bryan Nies will emcee.

Doors open at 6:30, Coffee demo at 7, followed by conversation with the musicians and the music.

Tickets are $25 in advance/$35 at the door and will include coffee (decaf available) and dessert.
