Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra and Chorus perform Saturday

This Saturday, November 12, see Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra and Chorus for It’s in the Stars: Songs of Fate. Take a journey with our musicians and singers as they highlight songs with the overlying theme of fate and destiny including Brahms’ Schicksalslied, op. 52, and Bizet’s Carmen Suites.

The program also includes Samuel Barber’s Sure on This Shining Night, Rafael Inciarte’s Rumbamban, Paul Dukas’ Fanfare from La Péri, and George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, in recognition of their performing tour of Cuba. Oakland Symphony Chorus takes the stage with the Youth Orchestra for George Gershwin’s Our Love Is Here To Stay and Johannes Brahms’ Schicksalslied (Song of Destiny).

It’s in the Stars: Songs of Fate is Saturday, November 12 at 8PM at the Castro Valley Center for the Performing Arts. General admission tickets are just $20. Purchase tickets here.
