Oakland Symphony 101: Stravinsky & The Chorus

Program:

Join Oakland Symphony Chorus for an afternoon of Russian folk music and it’s relation to Igor Stravinksy’s work. Guest speaker and Stravinsky specialist, Scott Foglesong, will lead you on a journey of Latin text, Gregorian chant, and the history of Russian folk music. Members of the Chorus will sing examples of Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, so you can get a taste and even join in on the singing.

The Sound Room is located at 2147 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94612.

The afternoon is sure to be educational and enjoyable for those who enjoy singing or just want to learn more about the music you’ll hear at Oakland Symphony’s presentation of Stravinsky & SIlverman on May 20 at the Paramount Theatre, Oakland.

General Admission tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door on the day of the event (fees not included).
