Violin

Sergi Goldman-Hull, violinist, a native of San Mateo, CA, graduated from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in 2003 with a BM in Violin Performance. His primary teacher there was Herbert Greenberg (Former Baltimore Symphony Concertmaster and Josef Gingold student). He began studying the violin at age 5 with the Suzuki method. Mr. Goldman-Hull’s early teacher’s include; Kate Stenberg (Violinist in the Del Sol String Quartet), Mr. Li Lin (Formerly of the SF Conservatory of Music-Prep Division), and Mr. Yong Ku Ahn (Former Concertmaster of The Korean National Symphony). At age 16, Mr. Goldman-Hull won the “Young Musicians Competition” and performed Mozart’s 3rd.

In 2002, Mr. Goldman-Hull won a spot in the American Russian Young Artists Orchestra touring the Eastern US, Russia, and Armenia for 5 weeks. This was his 3rd trip abroad. Mr. Goldman-Hull was also a member of The El Camino Youth Symphony, The Peninsula Youth Orchestra, and The San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Mr. Goldman-Hull is a tenured member of several Bay Area Symphonies, including; The Oakland East Bay Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley, Opera San Jose, The Marin Symphony Orchestra, and The California Symphony. He has also been Concertmaster for various groups around the Bay Area, including most recently for the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he has been a regular member of the “Music In The Mountains Festival” in Grass Valley, CA since 2009 and “The Mendocino Music Festival” since 2005. In the Summer of 2008, he performed with the Sun Valley Summer Symphony in Sun Valley, ID, an experience that he still rates as one of the top in his life.

Outside of his musical life and the violin, Mr. Goldman-Hull enjoys sports [which also can include musical jobs, as in the case of getting to perform with the Oakland East Bay Symphony at AT&T Park in San Francisco for the World Baseball Classic in 2013. Most recently, he performed with Symphony Silicon Valley at the new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for the 1st Outdoor Professional Hockey Game in Northern California between the SJ Sharks and the LA Kings], especially baseball and tennis. He also likes working on house projects with his girlfriend and “cat-family” at their beautiful home in Oakland.
