Rahul Ghosh

Rahul has been studying the oboe under the tutelage of Pam Hakl Economos for the past seven years.
He has been playing with the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra for the past two years. Prior to that he played with the California Youth Symphony for three years. Rahul’s playing experience also includes his High School honor ensemble, C’est Bon Chamber Music programs, California All-State Bands and the Mahler at Pacific festival, where he performed alongside the University of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.
Beyond the classical repertoire, Rahul also plays tenor saxophone. He has played at Stanford Jazz Workshops, local jazz jam sessions, his high school jazz band and also his high school marching band.
A lifelong scout and Eagle Scout of BSA Troop 14, Rahul is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys backpacking, fly fishing and archery. He is looking forward to a 12 day backpacking trip in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of New Mexico in June.
Rahul is a senior attending Palo Alto Middle College High School and is concurrently enrolled in Foothill College. He has a deep interest in Mathematics and Computer Science. He is currently doing research in detection of mental health trends utilizing machine learning. Rahul plans to pursue a double major in Math and Music in college.
