Karen Notovitz

Karen Notovitz is a soprano from Great Neck, New York. She is presently pursuing her Master’s degree under Catherine Cook at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Notovitz first began her professional education at Juilliard Pre-college, studying under Lorraine Nubar, before going on to receive her Bachelor’s degree at the New England Conservatory of Music. When not performing, she is a teacher and a dancer full of enthusiasm and passion.

Continually demonstrating versatility in her repertoire, Notovitz has studied music from baroque to modern, and roles from comedic to dramatic. Most recently she sang the title role in Poulenc’s Les Mamelles de Tirésias, as well as Handel’s Rodelinda. In the spring, she will sing Asteria in Handel’s Tamerlano working alongside conductor Corey Jamason and coach Marcie Stapp.

This past winter, Notovitz demonstrated her prowess and passion as a producer, researching and debuting a recital on Yiddish Folk Song and Theater.
