William Sauerland

William Sauerland enjoys a varied career of singing, teaching, and conducting. He recently accepted the position of Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies for the School of Music at Purdue University. Having lived in the Bay Area since 2005, he has worked for multiple different musical organizations, including the American Bach Soloists, Cantata Collective, Chanticleer, Festival Opera, Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco, Oakland Gay Men’s Chorus, Oakland Symphony, and Pacific Boychoir Academy. Most recently, he was on faculty as a voice teacher at San Francisco State University, and Director of Choral & Vocal Studies at Chabot College. Dr. Sauerland holds degrees from Columbia University (Ed.D.), the Royal College of Music (MMus.), and Miami University (B.M.).
