William Sauerland

William Sauerland enjoys a varied career of teaching, singing, and conducting. Mr. Sauerland is currently Director of Choral and Vocal Activities at Chabot College, Artistic Director of the Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco, and Artistic Director of the Oakland-East Bay Gay Men’s Chorus. He has sung with Chanticleer, Festival Opera Company, Musica Angelica, Long Beach Camerata Singers, American Bach Soloists, Oakland Symphony Orchestra, and Berkeley’s Handel Opera Project, among recital appearances for the London Handel Festival, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and at St. James’s Palace for His Royal Highness Prince Charles. Mr. Sauerland received his Master’s degree in Advanced Vocal Performance from the Royal College of Music, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
