Critically acclaimed lirico-spinto soprano, Hope Briggs made her debut with San Francisco Opera as the Duchess of Parma in Busoni’s Doktor Faust.

Career highlights include the title role in Aida (Nevada Opera, Sacramento Opera, Cedar Rapids Opera), Leonora in Il Trovatore (El Paso Opera, Opera Roanoke, Festival Opera of Walnut Creek), Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera (Festival Opera of Walnut Creek), Donna Anna (Frankfurt Opera), the Duchess of Parma (Staatstheater Stuttgart), Serena in Porgy and Bess (Tulsa Opera, New Orleans Opera), the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica (Pacific Repertory Opera, Opera Company of Brooklyn), Cio Cio San (Opéra Louisiane), Nedda (Festival Opera), and the title role in Joplin’s Treemonisha (Mississippi Symphony Orchestra).

Most recently, Ms. Briggs sang the role of Lucinda in Opera San José’s workshop of Jake Heggie’s newest opera, Intelligence, and made her debut with Reno Chamber Orchestra in Beethoven’s Ah! Perfido. Upcoming performances include Micaëla in Carmen with Festival Opera and Madame Lidoine in Dialogues des Carmélites with Berkeley Chamber Opera.
